Not ashamed!

It struck me this morning, as I read Romans Ch 1 verse 16, that Christians should not be ashamed of their faith for several very good reasons:

– the word ‘gospel’ means ‘good news’

– ‘salvation’, in the context of the gospel, means ‘ deliverance from eternal death’

– the ‘gospel of Christ’ is ‘ God’s power working unto salvation’

In other words the good news of Christ Jesus is the power of God working to deliver us from eternal death!

This is available ‘to everyone who believes’…

– ‘with a personal trust’

– ‘a confident surrender’

– ‘a firm reliance’

The world we live in needs to hear this message. God’s power is released into lives as they hear and respond to His Gospel message. Therefore let’s not be ashamed to share our faith to those God brings our way.

It’s not our job to ‘save’ – that’s the work of God’s Holy Spirit – it’s our job to live as believers with a personal trust, confident surrender and a firm reliance on Him!

‘For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation [for deliverance from eternal death] to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek,’ (Romans 1:16 AMP)
