Praying with faith

Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop. (Mark 11:23-25 AMP)

This ties in well with what I was listening to recently with Marianne on Joyce Meyers ministries – she was teaching on hindrances to prayer and lack of faith was one of them.

It’s so easy to get discouraged when our prayers are not answered immediately but I always think of daddy when I start to feel that way! Mum prayed for him for years I prayed for him for years His own mother prayed for him and I’m sure others did too who are known to God.
It says in Hebrews 11:1 that “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” KJV
And so, when i pray i will choose to believe that God will answer my prayers – as Joyce said in her talk – I believe that God is working – even though I don’t see results yet I know from past experience that God works through our prayers! I know He doesn’t have to but He has ordained and designed things in this way – He desires that we talk to Him and rely on Him. He gives us faith and delights to see us using it.

Therefore I will continue to pray for God to work in my life and in the lives of others and I will do so in full assurance of faith that He hears me and will answer my prayers.
