The Mirror and The Window

When you pray do you pray in the mirror or do you pray through the window?

 

Praying “in the mirror” = self orientated prayer; prayers that look inward and revolve mainly around our own concerns for ourselves, our family and our friends

Praying “through the window” = prayer for others; prayers that look outward and involve concern for issues affecting the wider world, the missionary and the stranger

If we’re honest we probably spend most of our time praying in the mirror – and mirror prayers are important.

However, we need to spend time praying through the window as well – for the wider issues are also important.
